Position: Business Requirements Analyst

Business Requirements Analyst Job Responsibilities:
Solves organizational information problems and requirements by analyzing requirements; recommending business solutions. The Business Analyst operates under general supervision, and performs duties with broad latitude for judgment. Business Analyst documents business requirements utilizing the Department of Veteran Affairs templates; leads requirements gathering sessions and is able to record feedback and convert into requirements statements. The Business Analysts documents, recommends, and implements process improvements. The Business Analyst creates User Acceptance Testing scripts based on approved Business Use Cases and Technical User Stories and performs overall strategic business analysis to support the Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Connected Health organization. Tasks assigned to this level require a broader understanding of problem identification, analysis and resolution. Familiarity and experience working with the VA, Connected Health, and My HealtheVet are a plus.

Specific duties of individual assignments vary these other duties may include general analytical assignments.

Business Systems Analyst Job Duties:

  • Develops requirements for new applications and enhancements to existing applications; ensures the system design fits the needs of the users.
  • Consults with functional and technical leads to identify, define and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, and levels of systems access.
  • Leads requirements throughout the lifecycle development process.
  • Creates User Acceptance Testing Scripts based on approved requirements.
  • Documents and manages Change Requests for defects and enhancements.
  • Analyzes Product Development Defect and Enhancement Backlog list.
  • Defines and documents business processes and procedures.
  • Identifies opportunities for improving business processes.

Business Systems Analyst Skills and Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Suite experience including: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook.
  • Ability to create wireframe mock-up designs
  • Rational Tools experience including Jazz

Experience
Experience: Ten (10) years of business analysis and design experience and must include duties in research and development of requirements, business process modeling, change management, and large group facilitation.

Or

Education: A Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university. AND Experience: Five (5) years of business analysis and design experience and must include duties in research and development of requirements, business process modeling, change management, and large group facilitation.
