Job Description
We are looking for an exceptional and passionate Technical Copywriter that loves writing product copy for consumer goods. This position is 100% REMOTE (CST Hours) and laptop will be provided!
The Copywriter will work within the Global Product Data Team and will be responsible for writing product descriptions, product overviews, and product features & benefits for multiple Kitchen and Bath brands/products. The ideal candidate loves researching consumer products and writing copy that stays within the brand's tone and voice. This role reports to the Global Manager, Product Data within Kitchen and Bath Group
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Creative Development
- Participate in project initiation meetings to gain accurate information and provide corporate input for project content curation and writing.
- Write, gather, organize, craft, distribute, maintain and facilitate approvals of content strategy; according to briefs.
- Has a respectful and partnering relationship with all teams within the group - account, strategy, project management, design, product management, digital assets, technical communications, IT, marketing, engineering
- Conduct research and use analytical skills to improve existent global styleguide
- Edits own and others' writing.
- Expected to collaborate to enhance global product styguide
- Collaborate with other copywriters and key stakeholders
- Upload copy to Datamart (Data Aggregation System)
- Understand how the product data management ecosystem works within Kohler Co.
- Research assigned products copy to develop an understanding of how they work and how customers use them to enable effortless customer selection experience
- Carryout global harmonization of product data together with other copywriters across regions
Knows the Business
- Knowledgeable of core Kitchen and Bath brands specially KOHLER
- Present work in a compelling, influential manner with confidence that it meets business needs.
- Learn in-depth global product categories and differences between markets. Makes it their business to know the business and the category
- Is a student of the industry - keeps abreast of current trends and technologies
- Maintain consistently on brand aesthetics of design and collaborate to understand, influence and define new design concepts.
Accountability and Results Orientation
- Meet assigned deadlines with consistency and dependably high levels of performance.
- Able to execute projects with full ownership and accountability with minimal guidance to process, and product (after appropriate product training).
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors Degree in Digital Creative Writing, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, Advertising, or other relevant digital disciplines.
- Solid knowledge of English grammar required; good command of other languages a plus.
- Incredible aptitude for writing creative, compelling technical product copy.
- Highly committed individual with a minimum of 3-5 years of working experience in creating product copy for commerce websites (manufacturing/3rd party retail) within the Consumer Goods industry.
- Strong knowledge of SEO
- Good written and verbal communication skills and comprehensive experience in digital writing and online content creation within varied channels such as digital, web, social, offline, etc. and digital photography (a plus).
- Creative, resourceful team player who can work independently and produce on deadline in a fast-paced, high-volume, collaborative environment.
- Portfolio to demonstrate creative ability including writing, editing, and proofing work.
- Reliable, open-minded, organized, self-motivated, independent, flexible and detail- and solution-oriented strategic thinker.
- Understand writing is subject to editing and feedback.
- Strong interpersonal and listening skills.
- Product Information Management System knowledge a plus.
- Global experience a plus.
- Strong understanding of content localization
