Sponsorship Sales Representative

We're seeking an enthusiastic Sponsorship & Sales Representative to join Indiegraf's growing Sponsorship & Development team.
This role gives you the opportunity to use your sales skills to make an impact on the future of local journalism while providing a flexible schedule. As a Sponsorship & Sales Representative, you will have the ability to flex your hours while generating sponsorship, advertising, major gift, and grant revenue for Indiegraf's network of independent community publishers. This role could be adjusted for either entry or mid-level candidates, and it is the ideal role for someone motivated by a mission-driven, fast-growing team.
This role is remote and open to candidates in Canada and the U.S.
Key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Sponsorship & Development team to drive revenue for community news outlets through sponsorship sales across channels that include newsletters, website, and content;
- Complete market research and identify local and regional sponsorship, major gift, and grant leads;
- Develop sales asset and proposal strategies, including value proposition, key messaging and pricing strategies;
- Assist with onboarding new publishers to Sponsorship & Development products and offer recommendations;
- Contribute to client communications to ensure sponsorship needs are being addressed in a timely fashion;
- Contribute to the development of replicable digital toolkits and best practices that can scale and drive growth across multiple publishers; and,
- Contribute to other Sponsorship and Development team tasks as needed.
Key skills and competencies:
- Strong English communication skills, including professional writing and copy editing;
- Digitally-savvy with competence in or ability to quickly learn digital tools including Mailchimp, Wordpress, Stripe, Slack, Jira, G-Suite, spreadsheets and Google Analytics;
- Professional stakeholder and client communication and relationship management skills;
- Quantitative reasoning: ability to read and interpret basic analytics and manage spreadsheets;
- Highly organized and detail oriented with ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines;
- Capable of working in ambiguity and problem-solving through roadblocks;
- Graphic design skills are an asset but not required; and
- Experience with Google Ad Manager is an asset but not required.
Education and experience: - Minimum of five years in a sales role;
- Post-secondary education (degree or certificate) in a related field such as communications, marketing or liberal arts;
- Experience in fundraising, marketing is an asset; and
- Experience working with news media or interest in the community news field is a strong asset.

Salary: $21.00 - $29.00 per hour
