As a Freelance Content Editor on our Marketing Team, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of freelance writers. You are responsible for shaping the written content that appears in a variety of media and ensuring each piece of content meets high company standards. The writing team will produce an average of 30 to 40 blog posts per week.
This position is integral to maintaining consistency and a high level of quality for every article posted on our website, resulting in inbound leads for our sales team. In this role, you will work closely with the Marking Coordinator to ensure that everything is well-written, engaging, and error-free.

Job responsibilities:
- Edit the work of a team of 5-10 freelance writers weekly to ensure that everything is well-written, engaging, error free and meet the brand style guidelines
- Provide timely feedback and guidance to contract writers on their work
- Add internal hyperlinks to posts for SEO purposes
- Write headlines and summaries of articles to help promote content
- Upload blog posts to WordPress
- Manage website editorial calendar to ensure each member of the writing team meets weekly output minimums.
- Assist Marketing Coordinator with writing and special projects as needed
Required Experience:
- 1+ years of experience editing, or 2+ years of writing experience
- Degree in English, journalism, communications or similar related field preferred
- Basic understanding of SEO and marketing best practices
- Experience with WordPress and Content Management Systems is helpful
- Proven track record of consistently meeting deadlines
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to communicate effectively in small and large groups
- Graceful in both giving and receiving constructive feedback
- Typing Speed of 80 WPM +
Additional Requirements:
- This position is 100% work remotely. You must have regular and reliable access to high-speed internet.
- US or Canadian residents preferred
- Available to work with teams from coast to coast, and in other countries.
- Expect to work 30-40 hours per week as an independent contractor
Compensation and Benefits:
- $25 - $30 / hour (DOE)
